Complaints Procedure

PIPRA Member companies and individuals adhere to our Code of Conduct and Ethics along with our Professional Standards.

Does the Probate Research company or individual belong to PIPRA? Do they display our logo?

PIPRA can only mediate or intervene if the probate research company being complained about is an existing member of PIPRA.

Investigations into any firm that is not a member but has demonstrated malpractice can be undertaken. Please make us aware at the time of raising a complaint.

Have you checked that the firm in question has their own complaints procedure? This should be followed first before contacting PIPRA.

PIPRA will attempt to resolve disputes amicably and realistically with regard to any potential financial implications.

  1. First follow that company’s complaints procedure and policy. If this is not readily available on their website, contact the company and request a copy. This should outline who to address the complaint to, how long the investigation will last and a deadline for resolving your complaint.Check if the probate research company is a member of the IAPPR. They should display an official IAPPR logo.  Contact us if necessary to confirm this.
